After Tennessee football’s win over New Mexico State and Florida’s loss to Ole Miss on the road, the betting odds and spread for the Vols’ game against the Gators this Saturday have been refreshed. The line has moved one point toward Florida, but Tennessee is still considered a 3.5-point favorite in the game.

This comes after UT put together a somewhat shaky performance in a 42-9 win in the buy game at home off of a bye week. On the other hand, UF played one of its better games of the year in a 10-point loss to the Rebels that came down to the wire.

So far, 61% of the money and 63% of the bets placed have come in on the Vols covering. Tennessee and Florida are both 4-6 against the spread this season, but the Vols own a 7-3 record while the Gators sit at 3-7.

The over/under point total is set at 57.5 combined points. Tennessee’s games have gone over in seven of its 10 matches, while Florida’s have in just four.

If Tennessee does beat Florida on the road, it’d mark the first win in Gainesville for the Vols since 2003. Under Josh Heupel, UT is 2-2 in the series, but both wins have come in Knoxville.

His first trip to play Florida came in his first season in 2021. The Gators, still with Dan Mullen, won 38-14. In 2023, Tennessee went in with a better chance to win, but dropped the game 29-16 with Joe Milton III at quarterback.

Now, Florida is under interim head coach Billy Gonzales. So far, he steered the Gators to losses to Georgia, Kentucky and Ole Miss.

After uncertainty about who would play quarterback, it was DJ Lagway sticking as the starter against Ole Miss. He threw for 218 yards with one touchdown and interception in the defeat. On the year, Lagway has tossed for 1,980 yards, 12 touchdowns and 13 interceptions.
