LOUISVILLE, Ky. — It went to five sets, but No. 7 Louisville defeated No. 14 Miami at L&N Federal Credit Union Arena on Sunday.

Louisville plays Georgia Tech Friday, Nov. 21 at 7 p.m.

Louisville (22-4, 14-2 ACC) won 22-25, 27-29, 25-23, 25-19, 15-12 to complete the reverse sweep and log its first five-set win this season. UofL had 55 kills, three aces, hit .301 with 15 blocks. 

Outside hitter Payton Petersen had a career high 24 kills and 10 digs for her eighth double-double of the year. She finished the match with a .354 hitting average.

Middle blocker Cara Cresse lead the blocking charge with eight and middle blocker Hannah Sherman stuffing six. Cresse also had 13 kills to the win, and outside hitter Chloe Chicoine added 10 kills to round out the group with double-digit kills. Setter Nayelis Cabello had 48 assists, eight digs and four blocks. Defensive specialist Molly Urban served two aces and libero Kamden Schrand added an ace of her own. 

Miami (22-5, 12-4 ACC) was led by outside hitter Flormarie Heredia Colon, who logged 40 kills for the second time this season and marked her fifth straight match with 30 or more kills. Heredia Colon served three aces in the match and setter Ariana Rodriguez added the other three aces. Rodriguez and libero Naylani Feliciano each posted 15 digs to lead the match. 

Louisville travels to Georgia Tech for a match Friday night at 7 p.m.
