Cape Coral Councilman William “Bill” Steinke, currently representing District 1, announced on Friday that he will not be seeking reelection.Steinke also teased a possible mayoral run, although he stated that he has not made a decision yet and will be more certain by January.Currently, Steinke serves as the city’s mayor pro tem, meaning that he will assume the duties of mayor if the current mayor is unable to serve due to vacation, illness, or any other absence.
