Man’s death remains under investigation after fire in Davie

A man’s death remained under investigation on Monday after a residential fire in Davie.

Lisa Binger, who lives in the area, said she heard a popping sound on Sunday morning and then saw dark smoke along Southwest 21 Court.

“The whole roof caved in,” Binger said.

Firefighters reported finding him dead inside a bathtub. Residents described the man as a widower and “a great” neighbor.

“He was a good man. He truly was,” a neighbor said.
