A 14-year-old boy was killed and a second teen boy was critically injured Sunday in a four-wheeler crash in Tampa, police said.

The crash happened about 10:15 p.m. when the boy driving the four-wheeler ran a stop sign at the intersection of East 93rd Avenue and North 20th Street in the Tampa Overlook neighborhood, according to the Tampa Police Department. The four-wheeler then crashed into a pickup truck.

A 14-year-boy in the four-wheeler died at the scene. A 15-year-old boy was hospitalized and was in critical condition Monday, according to police.

Police have not released the boys’ names or specified which teen was driving the four-wheeler at the time of the crash.

A 17-year-old boy who was driving the pickup remained at the scene after the crash and was cooperating with the investigation. He was not injured. Police have not released his name.
