TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – Leon County Commissioner Rick Minor filed paperwork to run for reelection last week.
Minor, who was elected to the commission in August 2018, represents Leon County District 3.
“The neighbors of District 3 and I are working hand-in-hand. We’re making real progress and the results are clear. Our partnership is moving District 3 in the right direction, and I’m proud of that. I have the skills and experience necessary to get things done, and I’d be honored to continue serving the people of Leon County in this role,” Minor said in a statement.
According to the Leon County Commission website, Minor’s focuses are reducing crime, growing the economy, and protecting the environment.
Currently, Minor faces one opponent, Charles “C.B.” Lorch.
Lorch is a local videographer and owner of Evolution Media, Inc.
In a statement to WCTV, Lorch said his experience is something the community needs.
“Since the day Rick [Minor] arrived in Tallahassee, his goal has been to be an elected official, so there was never a reason to expect he wouldn’t run again,” Lorch said. “But what our community needs isn’t more politicians, it’s more people with real experience who are willing to step up and serve.”
Candidates for local office have until May 11, 2026, to petition for public office.
Depending on the number of candidates and each race, a primary election is first held, then a general election in November.
