LARGO, Fla. (WWSB) – A St. Petersburg man is being charged with battery with a cheeseburger, Pinellas County Court records show.
On Oct. 11, a Pinellas County sheriff’s deputy responded to a call to the Atlantis Gentlemen’s Club on 66th Street North at about 9:30 p.m.
According to the arrest affidavit, a former employee of the club, identified as Jordan Cotto, 26, got into a verbal argument with a manager.
At some point, Cotto grabbed a cheeseburger from his vehicle and threw it at the manager, which “struck the victim in the left upper shoulder,” the affidavit said, “and did cause bodily harm.”
The affidavit did not describe the extent of injuries the cheeseburger caused.
The affidavit also said after Cotto was advised of his rights, Cotto told a deputy he did throw a cheeseburger from his vehicle “to the victim and stated he would do it again.”
The deputy noted in the document while no signs of drug use or mental health issues were observed, there was an indication of alcohol influence.
Cotto was charged with simple battery and booked into the Pinellas County Jail where he was released on his own recognizance, jail records show.
