According to his attorney, Lee County Sheriff Carmine Marceno has been cleared of the federal investigation against him.
Marceno’s attorney confirmed the information to WINK News on Tuesday.

The specifics of the investigation were not disclosed.
Marceno’s attorney had forwarded screenshots of the letter, confirming that the sheriff committed no wrongdoing.Â

The sheriff’s office released a statement, saying, “I believe in the system. The FBI and the US Attorney’s Office investigated and conducted independent investigations. They have found no wrongdoing. It is clear that from the beginning these were politically motivated allegations and completely false.”
