ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — Travelers looking for a warm getaway will soon have a new option out of Rockford. Allegiant Airlines announced this morning that it will begin offering nonstop flights from Chicago Rockford International Airport to Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport starting February 12, 2026.

The new route marks another milestone in Allegiant’s two-decade partnership with the Rockford airport. One-way fares will start as low as $39, according to the airline.

“This exciting new destination marks another milestone in our 20-year partnership with Allegiant, which we proudly celebrate this month,” said Zack Oakley, Executive Director of the Rockford airport, in a statement. “Together, we’ve worked to connect our community to more destinations throughout the country — and this new route is a testament to our shared commitment to growth, convenient travel, and exceptional service.”

The addition of Fort Lauderdale expands Allegiant’s leisure-focused network from Rockford, which already includes flights to popular destinations such as Orlando, Las Vegas, and Phoenix. Airport officials say the new route will provide travelers with easier access to South Florida beaches and cruise ports.

Tickets are available now through Allegiant’s website.
