After back-to-back wins in San Antonio and a blowout win in New Orleans, the Golden State Warriors were looking for their fourth straight victory on the road on Tuesday night in Orlando. Yet, the Magic had other plans.
Despite missing Paolo Banchero, the Warriors couldn’t answer Orlando’s balanced attack. The Magic had six scorers with 13 or more points, including all five starters.
After the Warriors held a brief lead in the first quarter, the Magic took control of the game. While the Warriors attempted to make runs of their own, it was never enough to close the distance on the Magic. Each time Golden State would cut into Orlando’s advantage, the Magic would answer.
Steph Curry and Jimmy Butler paced the Warriors, combining for 67 points, but it wasn’t enough against the Magic. Curry tallied a game-high 34 points on 12-of-23 shooting from the field with seven made 3-pointers to go along with nine assists, three rebounds and three steals. Curry also suffered five turnovers against the Magic.
Butler notched a season-high 33 points on 10-of-16 shooting from he field with seven rebounds and four assists. Butler got to the line thoughout the game, hitting 13-of-15 shots from the free throw line.

Orlando also had the advantage off the bench. Anthony Black tallied 21 points on 8-of-13 shooting from the field in 33 minutes off the bench. Golden State’s entire bench unit combined for 22 points on 8-of-23 shooting from the floor.
The Warriors will now move on to South Beach for the second leg of their Florida back-to-back. Coming off a loss to the Magic, the Warriors will head to Miami to meet the Heat on Wednesday.
