Allegiant is expanding at Huntsville International Airport with a new nonstop route to Fort Lauderdale — and a Gulf Shores nonstop coming next year.
HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — Huntsville International Airport is getting a boost in air service as Allegiant launches new nonstop flights to Fort Lauderdale, marking the low-cost carrier’s official entry into the Huntsville market.
The airline is promoting introductory one-way fares starting at $39, according to Allegiant.
“We’re excited to launch service in Huntsville and connect travelers to another vibrant Florida destination,” said Drew Wells, Allegiant’s chief commercial officer. “Our brand of all-nonstop flights at unbeatable value continues to resonate with customers. At Allegiant, we’re proud to provide budget-friendly options that empower our passengers to customize their dream vacation.”

Airport leaders say the new service reflects growing demand from North Alabama travelers.
“We’re excited to welcome Allegiant to Huntsville because they’re bringing exactly what our community has been asking for: new destinations, low fares, and more seats in our market,” said Joey Ceci, Board Chair for Huntsville International Airport. “The best part is that all four routes they are bringing to us are nonstops. No connections, no hassle, just easy, affordable travel to the places people want to go.”
“Allegiant’s arrival to our community confirms what we’ve believed for a long time, that Huntsville is a strong market,” added airport CEO Butch Roberts. “Not many airports get to celebrate a new entrant very often, and we’re thrilled to welcome a carrier like Allegiant with a proven record of success. Ultimately, this service on Allegiant gives our community more opportunity including more places to go, more affordable fares, and more convenience.”
Flight details and schedules are available on Allegiant’s website.
Allegiant also announced this week that a new direct route from Huntsville to Gulf Shores is set to launch next year, giving North Alabama travelers another option along the Gulf Coast.
