This year’s drive expanded in a big way. Three hundred turkeys were handed out to families across the community, just in time for Thanksgiving.
Organizers said the goal is to help ease the burden on families facing food insecurity while spreading hope and generosity throughout Tallahassee.
The drive is particularly meaningful for Tallahassee native Boston Richey.
Good News Outreach is gearing up for its Second Annual Turkey Drive, teaming up once again with hometown artist Real Boston Richey to give back.
“It’s important because it’s a lot of people who don’t have it, and I know how it feels, so it’s important that every year we come out here and make sure our city is straight. It start right here in the city,” he said.
The giveaway was first-come, first-served and open to everyone.
