TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – Several school districts and officials in the Big Bend have released statements after learning that a threat was sent to schools across the state this week.
In a social media post Wednesday morning, the Madison County District School Board announced that several “nearby and statewide school districts” received a bomb threat. As a result, the school district said precautionary sweeps were conducted at all of its campuses and no credible threats were found.
Just hours before the Madison County District School Board‘s announcement, several other Big Bend school districts and officials addressed the threat Tuesday evening.
The Jackson County School District, Liberty County Schools Superintendent Kyle Peddie and the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office all deemed the threat non-credible in social media posts.
However, Jackson County School District and Liberty County Schools will have additional law enforcement presence on their campuses Wednesday.
