TikTok influencer Girlalala had argued with her boyfriend before she was found in a pool of blood and shot multiple times in Lauderdale Lakes, according to new arrest documents.

Girlalala, identified by police as Maurice Harrison, was a transgender influencer and popular hairstylist from Pompano Beach, with over 235,000 followers on TikTok and tens of thousands of followers on Instagram.

According to GLAAD, a transgender person’s name -the one they go by in their everyday lives- should be considered their name, whether it has been legally changed or not. Reffering to them by their birth given name is a practice some call “deadnaming”.

The shooting happened around 7 p.m. Friday near the 3300 block of Northwest 37th Street. Harrison’s boyfriend, 25-year-old Shanoyd Whyte Jr., is now facing a first-degree murder charge in the shooting, Broward Sheriff’s officials announced on Monday.

According to the arrest documents, deputies said the first call for help came from Whyte, who waved them down outside of a home and led them to a beige Chevy Malibu.

Inside, detectives found 21-year-old Harrison, shot multiple times, with blood soaking through the seat and pooling onto the floor.

The documents stated that Whyte told detectives he and Harrison got into frequent arguments, including several earlier that same day. He claimed their final fight began when “the victim pulled his hair,” but he refused to explain what happened with the gun found inside the car.

Surveillance video captured what appears to be the influencer’s final moments. Whyte steps out of a car, with what appears to be a gun in his hand, with Harrison leaning out of the passenger side door. The video then shows him walking over to her, placing her back into the car.

Detectives said Whyte is then seen pacing near the car before using his phone to call 911.
