JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The family of a 26-year-old Jacksonville man is seeking answers after his death last Saturday on East 15th Street, as authorities continue their investigation into the circumstances surrounding his passing.
Maurice Solomon was found dead on Nov. 15. The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office is conducting a death investigation, with officials still awaiting results from the medical examiner’s office to determine the cause of death.
Solomon, who worked at both Amazon and JaxPort, was known in his community for his gentle demeanor and strong work ethic.
Family members describe him as a person with no known enemies who consistently demonstrated kindness and respect in his interactions with others.
“Maurice was a lovable, gentle young man who brightened any room he entered,” said a family spokesperson.
Colleagues at both of his workplaces remembered Solomon for his dedication and reliability. At JaxPort and Amazon, he had built a reputation as a dependable employee with a positive attitude that influenced those around him.
The investigation remains active, with authorities gathering information about the events that occurred on East 15th Street. The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office has not released additional details about the circumstances surrounding Solomon’s death.
