ORLANDO, Fla. – Toy and entertainment company Mattel has announced it’s picked Orlando to be among the first locations for a wave of new, indoor water parks.
Dubbed “Mattel Wonder Indoor Waterparks,” the Orlando location will be one of five in total, according to a news release shared Tuesday. Neither the address of our upcoming park nor any hint of the other locations were known at the time of this report, however.
For what we do know, Mattel promises its iconic brands such as Barbie and Hot Wheels will be integrated into the water park “across attractions ranging from lazy rivers and wave pools to thrilling waterslides.”

“Mattel Wonder Indoor Waterparks will encompass many iconic Mattel brands that span generations of play, offering innovative water-based attractions and amenities in a dynamic new format for Mattel,” said Julie Freeland, VP of Global Location-Based Entertainment at Mattel.
The water parks will be developed in partnership with aquatic design firm Martin Aquatic — which was behind Royal Caribbean’s Perfect Day at CocoCay, Universal Orlando’s Volcano Bay, and The Ritz-Carlton Naples — water park management firm American Resort Management, and developer I-dentity Group, the release states.
“Blending our innovative experiential design with Mattel’s family of brands is a dream come true,” Josh Martin, president and creative director of Martin Aquatic, said in a statement. “We look forward to inspiring that same sense of wonder for kids and adults alike as they cross the threshold into each Mattel Wonder Indoor Waterpark.”
