Bin 6 South, a St. Petersburg restaurant, wine bar and bottle shop, was scheduled to reopen Nov. 21 after renovations and with a new executive chef in the kitchen.

The small spot at 330 Sixth St. S. has expanded its outdoor dining with four tables and awnings, which are available on a first-come, first-served basis, according to an Instagram post from the business.

Nanci Rosen is the new general manager and wine director, and Joseph Nelson has been named the new executive chef.

The restaurant will also offer earlier seating opportunities, a new schedule for wine tastings and discounted wine tastings, according to an Instagram post.

Bin 6 South is an intimate concept, with seating for six at the bar and six at a communal table inside. The menu changes often and focuses on “an elevated experience in fine wine and culinary service,” according to its Instagram.

Food and dining critic Helen Freund reported in September that Bin 6 South was closing temporarily. It said it was doing so to make changes to its model, renovate and make repairs and “up our game,” according to an Instagram post from the owners in September.

Owners Bren Ankrum and Donna Hargrove opened Bin 6 South in 2022 as a concept reminiscent of the tasting-room experiences they had in California’s Napa and Sonoma valleys, as well as the enotecas — wine bars and bottle shops that serve food — of Tuscany.
