The qualifying window opened at noon on Monday, Nov. 3, and it closed at noon on Friday, Nov. 14. The city has already released its list of qualified candidates.
St. Pete Beach’s Qualified Candidates for 2026 Election
As of Nov. 21, two candidates qualified for mayor: Adrian Petrila and Scott Tate. Both will compete citywide, since all registered St. Pete Beach voters may vote for mayor.
District races remain more limited. In District 1, Karen Marriott qualified as the only candidate and will effectively run unopposed.
In District 3, voters will choose between Al Causey and Betty Rzewnicki, who both qualified before the deadline.

Key Election Dates
Election Day takes place Tuesday, March 10, 2026. Polls will open at 7 a.m. and close at 7 p.m., matching Pinellas County’s municipal election schedule.
Voter registration remains open until Monday, Feb. 9, 2026. This countywide deadline applies to all cities holding municipal races on March 10. Residents can register or update their voter information through the Pinellas County Supervisor of Elections.
Who Can Vote?
Who gets a ballot depends on where voters live. All registered St. Pete Beach voters will see the mayoral race. Only voters who live inside District 3 will see their district’s commission race on their ballot.
St. Pete Beach will publish precinct information, sample ballots, and additional updates as Election Day approaches.
