I’M SURE THE PEOPLE WERE NOT EXPECTING TO HAVE AN OFFICER SHOW UP AT THEIR DOOR. >> BUT IN THIS CASE, HOPEFULLY THEY WERE HAPPY THAT THEY WERE THEIR 25 YEAR-OLD LUIS U.S. TRIO WAS SUPPOSED TO DELIVER SOMEONE’S DINNER. >> BUT INSTEAD, KATE POLICE FOUND HIM SLUMPED OVER THE WHEEL OF HIS TOYOTA LAST NIGHT AND SKYLINE BOULEVARD IN CAPE CORAL PARKWAY. OFFICERS FOUND BEER IN THE CAR. A BAG OF FOOD AND HE WAS NEARLY TWICE THE LEGAL LIMIT. AN OFFICER MADE SURE THE HUNGRY CUSTOMER GOT THE ORDER. WE WERE LUCKY TO HAVE OFFICERS THAT HAD A LITTLE BIT OF EXTRA TIME ON THEIR HANDS. THEY’RE WILLING TO GO ABOVE AND BEYOND. Cape Coral police officers arrested a DoorDash driver for DUI and ensured the customer’s meal was delivered after finding the driver slumped over the wheel at a local intersection. Luis Alania Estrella, 25, was supposed to deliver someone’s dinner but was found Thursday after 8 p.m. at Skyline Boulevard and Cape Coral Parkway with an open beer in his car. Police said he was nearly twice the legal limit and was expressing concern over the late delivery order. Cape Coral police officers arrested a DoorDash driver for DUI and ensured the customer’s meal was delivered after finding the driver slumped over the wheel at a local intersection.

Luis Alania Estrella, 25, was supposed to deliver someone’s dinner but was found Thursday after 8 p.m. at Skyline Boulevard and Cape Coral Parkway with an open beer in his car.

Police said he was nearly twice the legal limit and was expressing concern over the late delivery order. Officers made sure the hungry customer received their order.

“Having that officer stop by, I’m sure the people were not expecting to have an officer show up at their door, but in this case, hopefully they were happy that they were there,” Officer Mercedes Simonds said.
