TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – The Tallahassee Fire Department battled a residential structure fire early Saturday morning that led to the evacuation of the occupants, according to TFD.
Crews responded to a report of a fire on 2600 Pine View Drive in Tallahassee at about 5:31 a.m. The department wrote in the press release that firefighters saw ” heavy flames coming from the rear of a single-story residence.”
As the crew began their immediate interior attack of the fire, they saw that it had extended into the attic and was continuing to spread, per TFD.

The firefighters worked to contain the blaze and prevented it from going to nearby structures.
A search of the home revealed that all the occupants had already evacuated. Crews were then able to rescue a rabbit and a cat from the residence, according to TFD.

One person had minor burns and they declined to be taken to the hospital.
“The American Red Cross was contacted to assist the displaced residents,” TFD wrote in the press release. The cause of the fire is being investigated by the State Fire Marshal’s Office.
