How are there just two weeks remaining in the regular season?

Week 13 doesn’t have the most exciting slate of games, but don’t rule out the possibility of a massive upset to shake up the playoff picture.

Here’s how to watch college football in Week 13, and here are our games to monitor on the penultimate Saturday of the regular season (scroll down for live updates).

No. 22 Missouri at No. 8 Oklahoma, Noon ET (ABC)

The path for Oklahoma to make the College Football Playoff is now very simple. Beat Missouri and LSU and you’re in the College Football Playoff. And those two home wins could even lead to a third home game. If Oklahoma stays in the top eight of the CFP rankings, it’ll host a first-round game.

No. 15 USC at No. 7 Oregon, 3:30 ET (CBS)

Can USC go on the road and beat a ranked team for the first time in nearly three seasons? The USC offense has been one of the best in the country this season and Oregon is right there with the Trojans. The Ducks have relied on their run game in the absence of its top receivers in recent weeks.

Pitt at No. 16 Georgia Tech, 7 ET (ESPN)

For as crowded as the ACC is at the top of the conference, the recipe for a title game appearance is simple for Georgia Tech. Beat Pitt and it’s playing for a spot in the College Football Playoff. The Panthers, meanwhile, need to bounce back from the drubbing it got at the hands of Notre Dame.

No. 11 BYU at Cincinnati, 8 ET (Fox)

The Bearcats made this game less intriguing with a home loss to Arizona in Week 12. But there’s now a chaos scenario in play in the Big 12 if Cincinnati wins on Saturday night. If Cincy beats BYU, the Cougars win in Week 14 and Utah, Houston and ASU each win their remaining two games, there will be a five-way tie for second in the Big 12 at 7-2.

After a promising first drive, Missouri’s second drive went backwards.

The Tigers are going to need to stay on schedule. Yes, QB Beau Pribula is back, but he has struggled against better teams who have learned to take away his first option.

This one is shaping up to be a defensive battle. The Sooners couldn’t get anything going on their first possession of the game, but their defense just stuffed the Tigers on the ensuing possession so they’ll have it right back.

The Tigers’ drive fizzled out, but they came away with three points on a field goal by Robert Meyer. They were also able to drain more than 8 minutes off the clock to open the game.

The Tigers got the ball first and they’ve cobbled together a great drive to get inside the red zone. They’ve done most of the legwork on the ground.

LSU officials are mobilizing around a heightened pursuit of Lane Kiffin.

University executives and athletic administrators are finalizing terms of a multi-million-dollar contract proposal and seeking a commitment from the Ole Miss coach within the next week — the latest and most serious push in the courtship of Kiffin.

However, the coach’s true intent remains a mystery — even to those closest to him, as he decides between staying in Oxford or leaving for open jobs at LSU or Florida.

While specific details of the contract offer remain fluid, sources told Yahoo Sports that LSU executives have discussed a seven-year, incentive-laden deal worth at least $90 million — figures that would make Kiffin, at the very least, tied for the highest-paid coach in the sport. The school is, as well, promising significant roster investments exceeding $25 million — perhaps the most important determining factor for the coach.

In the latest CFP rankings on Tuesday night, Notre Dame is ranked No. 9, and Miami is ranked No. 13 with no plausible path to leapfrog the Irish.

So the committee is setting itself up for the biggest controversy — and arguably injustice — in the history of the playoff.

And yes, that includes the Florida State snub two years ago, which was deeply unfortunate but easy enough to explain.

The potential situation with Notre Dame and Miami is completely different — and significantly more fraught for this committee because, at least right now, it looks like there may be room for only one of the two in this year’s CFP.

The Big Ten is in a weird place.

It has the nation’s top two teams and three teams inside the top seven of the latest College Football Playoff rankings along with the two favorites for the Heisman Trophy. And yet the league has taken a back seat to the SEC all season long.

The TV numbers bear that out. Starkly. Through the first 12 weeks of the season, Big Ten teams have played in just five of the two most-watched games on any given weekend. And of those five games, two of them — Ohio State’s Week 1 win over Texas and Michigan’s Week 2 loss to Oklahoma — involved SEC teams.

Is a strong finishing kick enough to dethrone the SEC this year? Probably not. But the Big Ten also won’t be complaining if one of its teams is winning the College Football Playoff for the third straight season.
