OPD released an update on an officer-involved shooting at a tattoo shop in Orlando that left a man deceased.
The Orlando Police Department was involved in an officer-involved shooting at 4864 Edgewater Drive, where OPD SWAT was serving a search warrant related to illegal drug and firearms activity at the tattoo shop involving multiple suspects.
This investigation began after the department received an anonymous tip reporting illegal narcotics sales inside the business. On September 19th, OPD officers responded to the shop regarding a suspicious incident. The caller reported witnessing multiple illegal drug transactions occurring inside the establishment.
Over the past two months, officers conducted surveillance both at the business and on associated social media accounts. Videos and photos posted online from inside the business show guns and drugs on full display. During that time, officers observed multiple hand-to-hand transactions consistent with the sale and delivery of illegal narcotics. Two traffic stops related to the surveillance operation resulted in narcotics being recovered. Social media posts made inside the business also depicted firearms and illegal drugs.
Through the investigation, officers identified nine individuals associated with ongoing narcotics sales at the shop. These suspects had criminal histories including burglary, robbery with a firearm, possession of a weapon by a convicted felon, sex offenses, drug offenses, auto theft, and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
After obtaining a search warrant, OPD SWAT arrived at the location at approximately 2pm on November 14, 2025. At around 2:05pm, officers saw a registered gang member who was not associated with the search warrant run out of the rear of the business armed with an AK-47 style rifle.
According to OPD, officers gave commands for the individual to stop and show his hands. He did not comply, and officers fired multiple rounds in his direction. The individual fled back into the business and was not injured.
Approximately one hour later, OPD SWAT made entry into the building and located one individual inside who was deceased. The decedent, identified as Kaleb Williams, was associated with the search warrant. Williams was standing near the rear door when officers fired at the armed individual. Orlando police said a stolen firearm was recovered in Williams’ possession, on his body.
The search warrant resulted in the recovery of the following items:
Five firearms
Multiple boxes of handgun and rifle ammunition
190 grams of cannabis (some prepackaged for sale)
One case of NARCAN
Paraphernalia including scales and a vacuum sealer with bags
Of the eight additional individuals associated with the warrant, three were located inside the business. Charges for those individuals, as well as for the registered gang member armed with the AK-47 style rifle, are pending the outcome of the investigation.
The officers involved in the shooting were not injured and were placed on administrative leave, which is standard procedure. As with all officer-involved shootings, the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) will conduct an independent investigation, followed by a review by the State Attorney’s Office.
This remains an active and ongoing investigation, according to local law enforcement.
