Leon County Sheriff’s Office to host 9th annual ‘Patrol Stroll’ Thursday night

  • October 15, 2025

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – It’s become an October tradition in Leon County — for the past nine years, during breast cancer awareness month, local first responders ditch their badges, and for one night, suit up in blazers and ballgowns.

It’s all part of the Leon County Sheriff’s Office’s event: “Patrol Stroll: All in for a Cure.” The first responders involved in the event have been fundraising for the American Cancer Society’s “Making Strides Against Breast Cancer” campaign.

Their efforts will culminate with a fashion show on Thursday in the Chain of Parks in downtown Tallahassee.

Shonda Knight, a spokesperson with the Leon County Sheriff’s Office, said the event is always meaningful.

“The most exciting thing for me, for Patrol Stroll, is to see the survivors sitting at the beginning of the runway. And so that’s always really rewarding to have them there celebrating us,” Knight said.

The event is also a way to honor breast cancer survivors and those currently fighting the disease. It’s free and open to the public.

Thursday’s VIP reception starts at 6 p.m. The fashion show starts at 7 p.m. You can bring a lawn chair to enjoy the show, and food trucks will also be available.

WCTV’s Abby Walton will once again serve as an emcee for the fashion show.
