Janderson Freitas-Leite was arrested on Friday after an investigation revealed he used the dark web to purchase child sexual abuse material with Bitcoin, according to the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office. Detectives with the Internet Crimes Against Children Unit initiated an investigation.On Nov. 14, ICAC detectives served a residential search warrant at Freitas-Leite’s apartment located at The Teale Apartments in Kissimmee.During the search, detectives recovered multiple electronic devices, including cellphones and laptop computers, all belonging to Freitas-Leite.Following a thorough investigation and forensic review of the electronics, detectives established probable cause to charge Freitas-Leite.An arrest warrant was obtained for eight counts of possession of photo/video of sexual performance by a child and one count of unlawful use of a two-way communication device.
