Florida gas prices jump, just in time for Thanksgiving travel

  • November 24, 2025

SARASOTA, Fla. (WWSB) – Florida gas prices rose 20 cents per gallon last week, as millions of Americans prepare to travel for Thanksgiving, AAA says.

In its annual Thanksgiving Travel Forecast, AAA says of the record-setting 81.8 million Americans expected to travel 50 miles or more, 90%, or 73 million, will drive.

In Florida, more than 4.25 million residents are expected to venture out. Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons are forecast to be the busiest times on the road.

“Florida gas prices jumped 20 cents last week, following a familiar trend of rising after a series of declines,” said Mark Jenkins, spokesman for AAA – The Auto Club Group.

“If that pattern holds, drivers could see prices ease as they hit the road for Thanksgiving. With pump prices matching last year’s holiday, even a small drop would give travelers extra savings compared to 2024.”

On Sunday, Florida gas prices averaged $3.10 per gallon, which is the same price as Thanksgiving Day 2024.

Regional Prices

Most expensive metro markets – West Palm Beach-Boca Raton ($3.26), Naples ($3.20), Ocala ($3.17)

Least expensive metro markets – Crestview-Fort Walton Beach ($2.71), Pensacola ($2.73), Panama City ($2.75)
