After more than four years, Action News Jax anchor/reporter Emily Turner is stepping away from the anchor desk.
“After 20 years in news and four years here, I am taking a step back from local news,” Turner said at the end of her final newscast on Friday, Nov. 21. “I’ll still be in town for the occasional cameo here on the air, especially when the stories I’ve worked so hard on have a big break.”
In addition to her work as an investigative reporter for Action News, Turner anchored the 4 p.m. newscast on Jacksonville’s FOX affiliate, WFOX-TV 30.
“Telling your stories and fighting for your tax dollars and holding your public officials accountable has been the greatest privilege. True investigative journalism is important, and to be able to do it in my hometown has made it so special,” an emotional Turner said, appearing with her two children at the anchor desk.
