A 53-year-old Winter Springs woman was struck and killed by a car while crossing Lee Road in Orange County on Sunday night, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The FHP crash report stated the woman was crossing the stretch of Lee Road, also known as State Road 423, near Kingswood Drive west of Interstate 4, but not in a marked crosswalk, when she was hit by a westbound 2010 Ford Fusion driven by a 32-year-old Apopka man at 6:20 p.m.
The woman was transported to AdventHealth Orlando where she was pronounced deceased, the report stated.
The driver remained on scene and was not injured.
The crash remained under investigation.
