FORT PIERCE, Fla. (CBS12) — A 23-year-old man died following a shooting on Monday.
The Fort Pierce Police Department (FPPD) at around 12:27 p.m. on Nov. 24, a 911 call came in near 1200 North 27th Street, related to a gunshot wound.
When officers arrived on the scene, the FPPD stated that it was determined an altercation involving a group of men had occurred, and the 23-year-old sustained a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Police said the initial investigation indicates this is an isolated incident and there is no active threat to the public.
