INDIANTOWN, Fla. (CBS12) — Deputies are searching for a suspect caught burglarizing a car in an Indiantown driveway, as authorities warn that car burglaries are on the rise.

Deputies with the Martin County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) announced on Monday, they responded to an Indiantown home after a homeowner found a Hispanic suspect dressed in all black inside one of the victim’s cars parked in the driveway.

MCSO noted that several other cars in the neighborhood appeared to have been burglarized, but no contact was made with the car’s owners.

Officials say car burglaries have been increasing in frequency lately, and remind motorists to lock their cars and remove their valuables.
