Between both locations on Monday, 70 people were given Thanksgiving groceries and a turkey to cook.

Laudi Campo, the state director of the Florida chapter of Hispanic Federation, said they served 70 people on Monday between both locations. This effort was done in partnership with the City of Orlando and Commissioner Tony Ortiz, who represents District 2.

“Hispanic Federation is here to empower our community. We know that vulnerable communities such as seniors are very important from hunger. Relief is one of our pillars when we talk about community,” Campo said.

“So, we understand that not only Thanksgiving every day of the year, our seniors are into what is isolation. So, we want to tackle that, but especially times like this, we take care of them with programs and also with hunger relief efforts,” Campo said.

“Florida is struggling, not only seniors,” she said. “Our vulnerable communities are struggling to put food on their tables. More than ever, we’re getting together to help them and to bring attention to that because those are the people, disabled, kids and seniors at the top of priority for us.”
