TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – A new face is shaking up the race for Florida governor.
Republican investor James Fishback has officially entered the 2026 race.
He’s promising a bold affordability platform focused on housing costs, wages and immigration.
“I’m running for Florida Governor to make life more affordable for you and your family,” says Fishback. “Hardworking Floridians should be able to buy a home, raise a family, and retire with dignity.”
Fishback positions himself as a conservative outsider, pledging to make life more affordable for Floridians.
His affordability platform includes stopping the “replacement of American workers with H-1B foreigners, so Floridians can get great-paying jobs again,” and abolishing property taxes.
According to his campaign profile, Fishback is a fourth-generation Floridian and is the founder and CEO of an investment firm, Azoria and a free high school debate league, Incubate Debate.
“In the coming months, I’m going to meet as many Floridians as I can, where they live, work, and pray,” Fishback said of his campaign plans. “I’ll visit all 67 counties because Florida’s next governor has to be someone you can see, talk to, and even debate with.”
Fishback’s primary opponent is Congressman Byron Donalds.
