TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – An FSU football player is giving back to the community that cheers him on.
Darrell Jackson hosted a turkey giveaway on Joe Louis Street Monday afternoon.

The defensive lineman from Havana teamed up with the Boys and Girls Club of the Big Bend to try and help families have a better Thanksgiving.
“You know, where I come from, I didn’t really have much. So, I just wanted to come back to a community in Tallahassee that didn’t have much and give back turkeys to the families in need. It was a blessing to me,” Jackson said.
Dozens of people lines up to receive turkeys and all the fixings this afternoon.

Jackson said he is planning a holiday toy drive in the weeks ahead.
