Ole Miss is just one game (with a little help from SEC rivals) away from potentially playing in the SEC title game, but all of the headlines surrounding the program are focused on head coach Lane Kiffin.
Both Florida and LSU reportedly have significant offers on the table for Kiffin, who could walk away from the 2025 season as the highest-paid coach in college football. His flirtation with the Gators and Tigers comes as the Rebels are in the midst of one of the best seasons in program history and are in line for their first College Football Playoff appearance.
As Ole Miss prepares for the Egg Bowl against in-state rival Mississippi State, Kiffin offered a telling message on his future.

Rumors suggested he could leave Ole Miss for either Florida or LSU before the College Football Playoff. However, the head coach made it clear he doesn’t have any intentions of leaving before the end of the season.
“It’s very important (to finish this season),” he said. “I’ve never thought of anything different than that.”
The son of a coach, Kiffin knows what it’s like to constantly change jobs and move around the country.
“Over the years of the changes I’ve made, I’ve had a lot of time to reflect on things that have happened,” Kiffin said. “I really feel like, with age, they all happened exactly how they were supposed to happen and when they were supposed to happen. I just didn’t think it at the time. I thought they were disasters. They’re just all part of a story.
“I spoke at my dad’s funeral when he passed and I always wondered why we moved so much. Because it was hard on us as kids and everything. I realized that that was just all part of his story. All the people that came to the funeral or wrote notes from all the different places. I realized that was God’s plan for him to impact all those people and have all those relationships. So I think all the stuff that happened, happened how it was supposed to happen.”
Ole Miss and Mississippi State meet on Nov. 29 at 12 p.m. ET.
