Landmark Properties has started construction on The Mark Tampa, a six-story luxury student housing community planned for University Square Drive.
The project will bring more than 800 beds and a long list of modern amenities. It is expected to open before the 2027 to 2028 school year.
During the event, Landmark made a $10,000 donation to The Lions World Vision Institute, a Tampa nonprofit that works to restore sight worldwide.
What happened
Landmark held a formal groundbreaking for The Mark Tampa and confirmed plans to build 215 units, ranging from studios to five-bedroom layouts.
The project will total about 270,500 square feet of residential space.
The amenity list includes a rooftop pool deck, fitness center, jumbotron, sports simulator, sauna, cold plunge and a computer lab.

The building will also offer on-site parking and a small amount of ground-floor retail.
Leaders from Canyon Partners Real Estate, Peninsula Investments and Kennedy Wilson joined Landmark at the event.
