FORT PIERCE, Fla. (CBS12) — Police identified the 23-year-old man fatally shot in Fort Pierce on Monday.
The Fort Pierce Police Department (FPPD) announced on Tuesday that Gregory Carson was fatally shot near 1200 North 27th Street.
Investigators say an altercation involving a group of men occurred before Carson sustained a gunshot wound. He was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Police believe this was an isolated incident and report there is no active threat to the public.

The suspected shooter is described as a young Black male, medium complexion, about 6 feet tall, with a slender build and short haircut. At the time of the shooting, he was wearing a black T-shirt, black skull cap, and gray joggers.
