Florida’s bear hunt will proceed; environmentalists react

Sierra Club Florida released a statement Tuesday saying, “We are deeply disappointed that the court has failed to uphold the [state Wildlife] Commission’s constitutional duty to manage Florida’s black bear population based on science rather than the demands of trophy hunters.”

Tampa City Council considers cracking down on large groups of bicyclists

Tampa City Council has advanced a new ordinance banning bikers from doing stunts and limiting large groups of bikers on the Tampa Riverwalk, Bayshore Boulevard, and other trails. But WMNF’s Chris Young reports, some members of the public are concerned it could lead to racial profiling.

The group wants to draw attention to fighting in the city of El-Fasher in North Darfur State.

A cold front is headed for Florida; it will bring a substantial temperature drop

Meteorologist Megan Borowski from the Florida Public Radio Emergency Network says lows Thanksgiving morning should fall into the upper 50s to low-60s, while highs in the afternoon will reach the upper 60s to low 70s. By Friday morning, temperatures will be in the low- to mid-40s, with wind chills in the upper 30s and lower 40s.
