A 32-year-old man has died following an early morning crash on US 41.
Florida Highway Patrol said the victim, who was driving an SUV, was heading north on US 41 on Wednesday morning, following a dump truck near Whispering Pine Way.
FHP said the dump truck, which was being driven by a 38-year-old, was following a street sweeper at a slow rate of speed when the SUV slammed into the rear of the dump truck.
Troopers said the SUV’s driver was critically injured and died at the hospital.
The road was closed for a while as troopers investigated the crash, but it has reopened.
