ORLANDO, Fla. – Some big changes are in the works for the Orlando International Airport (MCO), according to the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority.
On Wednesday, the GOAA unveiled its 10-year plans for MCO, which were previously presented to the board during a workshop last week.
“This vision focuses and unites everything we do around one core purpose: delivering an exceptional experience for everyone who passes through our airports,” GOAA CEO Lance Lyttle said. “We’re creating spaces that are more welcoming, efficient, and enjoyable, from the parking areas to the gates, so that every step of the journey feels seamless.”

Among the changes planned for MCO are customer experience improvements and a “Business Incubator” to help drive up the number of small businesses working with the airport.
The 10-year plan calls for air taxi services to make short hops from the airport to destinations in local cities.
These plans also call to make the airport more welcoming outside, while inside, high tech would replace boarding passes with facial scans at security and the gate.
In addition, mobile ordering with upgraded restaurants and stores are on the docket, though the grand plan comes with a price tag of about $6 billion.
The GOAA’s plan involves several other infrastructure improvements to MCO over the next 10 years, which include the following:
