Was Kim English sending a message in the game on Friday by not starting Jason Edwards and Oswin Erhunmwunse?

The Friars were blown out by Wisconsin on Thursday. English looked to spark the struggling Friars with a message.

Well, it didn’t work.

The Friars lost to Florida 90-78. In the second half, the game was never close.  PC finished last in the four team tournament in San Diego.

The Friars are 4-4 on the season.

Oswin Erhunmwunse fouled out with seven minutes in the game and finished with 2 points. Cole Hargrove started in his place and finished with 2 points and also fouled out.

There were two positive signs — Ryan Mela broke out with his best game of the year, and the Friars were better than they were in the loss to Wisconsin.

And, Mela finished with 17 points and 8 rebounds.

At half-time, the Friars trailed the Gators at 45-39. That was better than the 19-point halftime deficit against Wisconsin.

Florida was led by Princeton transfer Xaivian Lee, who scored a season high 20 points
