PORT ST. LUCIE — A city employee was arrested on Nov. 26 on charges of making electronic written threats to kill or cause bodily harm via social media, according to police reports.
Shemar Antwan Jerome, 24, was arrested following an investigation by Port St. Lucie Police that Jerome allegedly made threats via social media just before 11:30 a.m., on Nov. 26 on a domestic-related matter, according to police reports.
As a matter of caution, Port St. Lucie City Hall was temporarily locked down following the report to ensure public safety. No threats were detected to the public or to city employees.
Port St. Lucie City Hall was notified of the incident and arrest. Jerome’s city credentials and access were revoked, according to police reports. The investigation is active and ongoing.
