HAVANA, Fla. (WCTV) – As people put away the Thanksgiving leftovers, the Allison Christmas Spectacular light show begins its opening week, but this time in a new space.
The light show kicking off means a joyous time for residents across the Big Bend at the Havana Christmas Tree Farm. The special display of magical lights is for a good cause, to fuel the community spirit and give back.
Organizer Daniel Allison said they’re back on track after the future of the light show was a little uncertain earlier this year, with the legal threats from neighbors.
More news out of the Big Bend:
“You know, it’s definitely bittersweet, right? You know, moving from our home, not decorating our own home for the first time in 25, 30 years. But we made that final call, back a few months ago, made that final call to move everything off the street, move everything up to the tree farm in the best interest of everyone,” Allison said. “Here we are at our new home. So we’re very excited and grateful and truly humbled.”
At the new location, countless cars lined up on Friday night to see their favorite Christmas themes. Neighbors said that no matter where the light display ends up, they’ll be right there enjoying the show.
“It’s a true tradition for a lot of people and we just want to keep that going strong every year,” Allison said.
The light show runs from 6 to 10 p.m. from now through New Year’s Day at the Havana Christmas Tree Farm.
