HAVANA, Fla. (WCTV) – The countdown to Christmas is officially on and the day after Thanksgiving means Christmas Tree farms like the one in Havana are pretty busy.
Co-owner of the Havana Christmas Tree Farm, Bryan Turner, said there’s been a slight increase in tree prices this year due to a rise in costs for fertilizer, labor and others.
He said that overall, they’re in shape for a good season as they’ve sold more than 100 trees so far and expect more families to pour in.
More news out of the Big Bend:
“The favorite part, seeing all the people come in, getting excited for Christmas, getting their trees, talking about the traditions that go with all the setting up the trees and decorating and all the things. So that’s, yeah, it’s been really good.”
Turner also reminded people that if they’re looking to buy a real tree, then it’s important to remember proper tree care. This includes keeping the tree hydrated and keeping it away from heat sources that will dry it out.
