What You Need To Know
MCO staff estimate nearly 1.9 million travelers will visit the airport during the Thanksgiving holiday season
They track data for 12 days, from Nov. 21 to Dec. 2
This weekend is expected to be the busiest of the travel period
“I would say it’s been a bit busy. It took us a little while to get some seats and find a place to camp out, but it doesn’t feel too bad so far,” said traveler Ebun Olunuga.
MCO staff recommend arriving to the ticket counter three hours before departure, passing through the TSA security checkpoint two hours beforehand, and arriving at your gate one hour before boarding.
“It seems busy,” said Tope Olunuga. “At all the gates I see crowds of people walking out at the same time, but it’s also peaceful still. And I see there’s a hotel in here, a lot of different options and a lot of different food options, so it’s busy, but I travel a lot, so I’m used to it.”
Travelers this weekend should keep track of time, check the MCO app for parking or TSA wait times, and keep an eye on their flight status.
The 12-day travel period, from Nov. 21 to Dec. 2, was expected to bring nearly 1.9 million people to MCO, according to data shared by airport staff.
