GAINEVILLE, Fla. – The University of Florida has announced on Sunday that they will formally introduce Jon Sumrall as the head coach of its football program during an introductory press conference on Monday afternoon.
Sumrall, the current coach of the Tulane Green Wave has coached the program to an overall 19-7 record in 2024 and 2025. According to the AP, Sumrall will remain with the 22nd-ranked Green Wave for next week’s American Conference title game and through the College Football Playoff if Tulane makes the 12-team field.
Prior to coaching Tulane, Sumrall led the Troy Trojans to an overall record of 23-4 in 2022 and 2023.
Sumrall’s deal with the Gators is believed to be a 6-year pact, according to the Associated Press.
