Miami-Dade County Tax Collector Dariel Fernandez recently announced “An Evening of Hope,” a fundraising event dedicated to supporting the critical work of La Liga Contra el Cáncer, an organization that has provided free cancer treatment to patients in South Florida for more than 50 years.
The event is scheduled for Friday, Dec. 19, at 7 p.m., in the Country Club Ballroom of The Biltmore Hotel in Coral Gables.
The program will bring together supporters and partners committed to ensuring that families facing cancer continue to receive life-saving care regardless of their financial circumstances. A special performance by Grammy Award–winning artist Willy Chirino will highlight the evening.
“La Liga Contra el Cáncer remains one of the most reliable sources of support for families in our community,” Fernandez said. “When people are facing their darkest hour, La Liga provides care, direction, and steady leadership. Expanding their mission is critical, because a community’s strength is reflected in how it supports those who need help the most.”
Funds raised during An Evening of Hope will directly support La Liga’s oncology services, diagnostic programs, and patient assistance initiatives. Attendance will be managed through Eventbrite.
