The Cape Coral Boathouse Tiki Bar & Grill, a beloved local spot destroyed by fire last year, is set to make a comeback. New renderings of the boathouse have been revealed, sparking excitement among residents and beachgoers.

Alex, a local resident, said, “When we heard it burned down, we were pretty devastated.”

Beachgoers reminisced about the good times they had at the boathouse, enjoying drinks, food, and live music. Linda shared, “It was a meeting place for everybody, and everybody just comes in here on their boats, or their boat there.”

Gordan fondly remembered the atmosphere, saying, “It was beautiful. And you know, in the evening, especially, you would come here. You have the fisherman’s around there fishing, and it’s a kind of relaxed atmosphere. It’s just nice, beautiful.”

Boathouse owner Zak Kearns provided WINK News with renderings of the new designs, expressing hope to have the first round of permit plans ready soon.

Gordan expressed his excitement about the new look, stating, “I think it will be very nice, especially the construction as it look on that picture.”

Alex also shared his enthusiasm, saying, “It looks really cool. It definitely looks bigger than it was. So I’m just wondering, like, about how much space it’s gonna take up, I guess. But it looks really cool.”

While Kearns did not provide a definitive timeline for the project, he assured that progress is being made through the permit process.

Residents and visitors eagerly await the return of the boathouse, looking forward to once again enjoying the vibrant community hub.
