Authorities in Charlotte County have arrested two women for allegedly operating an unlicensed massage business and facilitating prostitution.
The Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the case further, and WINK News is working to obtain more details.
The exact business where this occurred is currently unknown.
The arrests highlight an ongoing issue with businesses that pose as massage or therapy shops but are suspected of being fronts for prostitution rings.
Investigators previously uncovered illegal activity at the Honey Bee Scent Shop in February during a sting operation in Port Charlotte.
Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office stated their commitment to cracking down on these ‘front’ businesses, aiming to disrupt what they describe as a growing underground network.
