STUART, Fla. (CBS12) — A former sales manager at a local assisted living facility, allegedly stole more than $5,000 from an 89-year-old victim.
The Stuart Police Department (SPD) announced on Monday that Crystal Camille Curet, 33, is accused of financially exploiting an elderly resident.
According to the news release, Curet gained access to the victim’s debit card while assisting with Veterans’ benefits. Shortly after her termination from the facility, Curet allegedly began making unauthorized purchases, including paying bills, buying fast food, and completing 47 Amazon transactions over the span of about one month.

Detectives reviewed financial and account records, ultimately securing a warrant for 47 counts of Criminal Use of Personal Identification of a Victim Over 60. Curet was arrested in Orange County and is currently being held at the Orange County Jail on a $1,880,000 bond.
Police emphasized their commitment to protecting seniors from exploitation.
