Port St Lucie police officer shot, injured on Monday

A Port St. Lucie police officer was taken to an area hospital after being shot on Monday while investigating a disturbance, the police department said.According to the Port St. Lucie Police Department, officers responded to the 11000 block of SW Lake Park Drive in Port St. Lucie for a reported disturbance. At the scene, one of the officers was shot. That officer was taken to HCA Florida Lawnwood Hospital in Fort Pierce for treatment.The department said that law enforcement has secured the scene and that there is no threat to the community.
