For the first time ever in Jacksonville, the adrenaline-charged, boundary-pushing, heart-racing spectacle of Warren Miller ski cinema arrives.

On Monday, Nov. 10, the Alhambra Theatre will host the Jacksonville premiere of “Sno-ciety,” with two showings at 5:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. It’s not just a movie — it’s a season-opening celebration of what it means to live for the snow.

Presented by MediaShare Consulting Group as the local independent promoter, “Sno-ciety” travels the globe shredding the back bowls and carving through powder in places like Mammoth Mountain (California), Steamboat Springs (Colorado), Tuckerman Ravine (New Hampshire), Diamond Peak (Nevada) and Whitewater, British Columbia.

Warren Miller’s “Sno-ciety” celebrates the global community that lives for the rush of the mountain. From steep lines and deep powder to the stories that connect generations of skiers and riders, “Sno-ciety” is a cinematic journey through the culture, camaraderie and wild beauty that define life on snow.

From urban ski hills to massive Alpine peaks, “Sno-ciety” features Olympians, freeriders, local legends and ordinary people bound by extraordinary snow. Scenes shot in Austria, Scotland, Finland and Canada amplify that sense of global mountain community.

“Skiers, snow boarders and snow sports fans are going to love this film,” said Mark D. Berman of MediaShare Consulting Group. “Growing up in Boston, I’ve skied since I could walk. The annual Warren Miller film was always the season kick off. It just set the tone with big action and big turns — and some humor. This is the first time a Warren Miller film has ever been shown in Jacksonville, and I’m excited to share the Warren Miller adventure our market.”

Tickets are on sale now at AlhambraJax.com. Tickets are $30 and include a raffle ticket. Note: there is no dinner service with this show, but the bar will be open.

Alhambra Theatre & Dining is located at 12000 Beach Blvd., Jacksonville.

The film is being presented by MediaShare Consulting Group, the Jacksonville Ski Club and Sight and Sound Productions.
